Who we are

The Cookcraft Kitchen is a specialist cookshop with a focus on quality, function and continuous adventure. We learn a lot about cookware and cooking from our suppliers, our customers and by trying things out ourselves. When we stumble across a good product, interesting fact or new technique we like to pass it on to anyone who will find it interesting, useful or humorous.

This website has been designed to share the fun and enormous affection we have for the world of cookware and kitchen utensils. We hope you enjoy your visit.

The Cookcraft Family

Liz (that’s me!) and Norman Murray set up the cookshop in 2003, with a view to earning an income in order to raise the three Murray boys in the Scottish Borders. Whereas I do most of the talking, buying and selling, Norman hovers in the background looking after the mechanics of the business and arching a quizzical Scottish eyebrow when I become overexcited by a new product (but gamely trying it at home to prove me right or wrong).

As our joint knowledge of cookware and cooking has grown, so have our boys. Cookware is therefore not just what we sell, it’s an integral part of our family life. And this is why we care so much about quality, functionality, fun and

relevance: every kitchen is as unique and characterful as the person or family it feeds.
